“The Wait Before the Flight” – A Reflection for B.A.B.E.

When the monarch butterfly breaks free from her chrysalis, she does not soar at once. Though she has struggled, stretched, and appears from her cocoon, her wings—delicate and drenched from transformation—must first dry. The pause is critical. If she flies too soon, she risks injury, imbalance, or never reaching the heights for which she was designed. Only after waiting for the stillness—can she truly take flight in strength and beauty.

In the same way, Christian women too must learn to wait after seasons of transformation.

You may have endured trials, undergone refining, and pushed through the darkness of your spiritual cocoon. But the moment you break free is not always the moment to fly. Sometimes, God asks us to rest. To remain still. To let His Spirit strengthen our wings. To allow healing, growth, and wisdom to take root before we run ahead.

Isaiah 40:31 (KJV) reminds us:

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles…”

Though your wings are ready, the flight is appointed. The waiting is not denial—it is divine preparation.

As B.A.B.E, women who are “Becoming A Better Example”—we understand that the strength to fly comes not just from being transformed, but from being prepared in the quiet.

Let the Lord finish His work in you. Wait until the wings of your faith are fully ready, and then… fly in His perfect time.
